A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) is a specialized practitioner trained
and qualified to diagnose and treat ailments affecting the foot, ankle, and
associated structures of the leg.
Within the podiatry field, podiatric physicians can choose to specialize in
various areas, including surgery, sports medicine, biomechanics, geriatrics,
pediatrics, internal medicine, diabetes, orthopedics, or primary care.
