MRI Technologist

Medical MRI technologists, also known as MRI technicians, employ MRI
scanners to capture specific images as directed by physicians to assist in
patient diagnosis. These professionals must meticulously follow physician
instructions, operate MRI equipment, position patients accurately, and
effectively record requested diagnostic images. Most medical MRI
technologist positions are based in hospitals and diagnostic imaging
centers, involving a moderate level of physical activity in operating
equipment and maneuvering patients.
To qualify for MRI technician roles, individuals typically hold an
associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology-related fields and are
registered with the ARRT. Many medical MRI technologists initially train as
radiology technicians and pursue additional education to specialize as MRI
techs. Some MRI technicians may opt to advance their careers by becoming
nuclear medicine technologists.
In Malaysia, MRI technologist positions in private hospitals typically offer
competitive hourly salaries along with benefits, reimbursement for
job-related travel, free housing, and partial expense compensation.
The demand for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) job opportunities is
outpacing the availability of qualified medical MRI technologists, leading
hospitals and diagnostic imaging centers to seek temporary MRI technicians
to address their growing needs.
