Taylor’s has continuously provided excellent services for its students in terms of diverse study options, relevant curriculum and teaching methods, ongoing partnerships with leading universities worldwide, strong industry linkages, up-to-date facilities and well-equipped campuses.

In 2006, Taylor’s was officially granted ‘University College’ status, which resulted in two distinct identities under the tertiary arm of Taylor’s: Taylor’s College, which hosts all the Pre-University and transfer programmes, and Taylor’s University College, which hosts tertiary and post-graduate programmes.

Students gain substantial savings by completing their basic medical education in Malaysia through Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Medical Degree Transfer Programme (MDTP), thereby reducing the number of years spent overseas.

The school consists of well-qualified and experienced lecturers who are fully-trained in their respective specialisations.

The School of Medicine has tied up with reputable partner medical schools abroad. They have a long and progressive history in offering medical degree programmes in their respective countries.

The campus is equipped with 17 specially built lab facilities for medicine and health sciences spanning an area of over 16,000 square feet.

Students are also introduced to medical research, student selected components, self-study modules as well as electives.

Through this assessment, students will take on three major out-of classroom exposure. These include:

• Going on educational field trips to rural villages or community to conduct health screenings, informative health talks and activities for the community.

• In further exposing students to vast medical field, they are required to complete an extensive Research Project on an agreed topic of their choice.

• Finally, a Student Selected Module (SSM) which aims to instill students with professional responsibility and omprehensive understanding on specific medical areas of their choice including Chinese Medicine and Homeopathy.

Clinical exposures start as early as in the first year, initially in the Clinical Skills Suite and followed by teaching in hospital. The early exposure of students to clinical experiences emphasise the importance of the basic medical sciences to its clinical application and to acquire the basics of history taking and physical examination.
