Penang Adventist Hospital
Penang Adventist Hospital is a Malaysian owned and controlled company. It is
part of an international network of some 500 not-for-profit hospitals,
clinics and dispensaries worldwide operating under the Adventist Health
Network
The hospital was established in 1924 by Dr J. Earl Gardner. From its humble
beginnings, it continuously operates and has grown to become a tertiary
healthcare institution providing global healthcare for the Malaysian and

To date, the hospital is supported by a dedicated medical team, nursing and
healthcare professionals and employing up-to-date medical equipment and
facilities to provide quality healthcare and treatment outcomes.
Since its inception more than 79 years ago, Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH)
has progressed from a one-man clinic to a medical centre with 40 resident
specialists and an equal number of visiting consultants.
A recent addition to the already established cardiac program is paediatric
cardiology and paediatric cardio-thoracic surgery. The vascular program is
also a recent addition to the cardiac program. This complementary specialty
now makes the hospital one of the first medical centre to offer a
comprehensive Heart and Vascular Program.
Retinal surgery was added two years ago, and so were the urology and ear,
nose and throat programs and invasive radiology. Plans are in the offering
to develop a neurology and neuro-surgical program in the very near future.
