Psychology Counselling

Introduction
The inception of professional counseling services began on October 16th,
1993, at the Department of Psychiatry, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL).
Initially, these services primarily catered to psychiatric patients and
their families.
On May 14, 2001, the Unit of Counseling Psychology (UPsK) was established
under Hospital Management. UPsK expanded psychological counseling services
to all clients at HKL, addressing a growing need for support with
psychosocial and emotional challenges.
Services
Counseling is a structured assistance process provided by counselors,
employing a humanistic psychological approach. Counselors facilitate, guide,
and support clients, encouraging insight to enable independent
