Oral Surgery (Dental)
Introduction
The Oral Surgery Department is an integral part of Hospital Kuala Lumpur,
the largest healthcare facility in the region and a leading tertiary care
provider. Our mission is to deliver holistic and comprehensive care,
encompassing diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with oro-facial
and dental conditions. We aim to restore function, aesthetics, and improve
the quality of life through our commitment to oral health.
Situated in the main block of the hospital, our department is strategically
located close to other specialist clinics, as well as essential amenities
like the cafeteria, pharmacy, and transportation services. We prioritize
accessibility, ensuring our facilities are inclusive and accommodating to
all patients, including those with disabilities.
Staffed with a dedicated team comprising consultants, dental officers,
technicians, nurses, and support staff, we ensure a high standard of care
delivery. Our department boasts modern facilities, including separate
treatment areas, specialist rooms, sterilization and supply rooms, and a
radiography room. We also have an onsite dental laboratory to support our
treatment services.
As a national referral center, we offer comprehensive oral and maxillofacial
services, including trauma management, surgical procedures, oral medicine,
and cancer treatment. Quality assurance is paramount to us, and we actively
participate in quality improvement programs to enhance our services
continually.
Our services cover a wide spectrum, including consultation, surgical and
conservative treatments, prosthetic care, periodontal treatment, and oral
medicine. We also provide forensic odontology services and prioritize
continuing professional education to stay abreast of the latest advancements
in dentistry.
All patients receive thorough assessment and treatment under the supervision
of our clinical specialists or consultants. We perform minor oral surgery
procedures in our clinic under local anesthesia, while complex surgeries are
conducted in the operation theater under general anesthesia.
Our department is also equipped to handle preprosthetic surgery,
orthognathic surgery, laser surgery, and implantology, offering
comprehensive solutions for oral rehabilitation.
