Hospital Sultan Ismail in Johor
Bahru is a tertiary specialist hospital equipped with THIS (Total
Hospital Information System) which is a fully computerized system.
Construction of the hospital is in line with government’s objective
of making Malaysia a developed nation through Vision 2020 and
Malaysia Ministry Vision. To achieve the above goals, the hospital
is designed and equipped with sophisticated world class equipments.
This modern electronic hospital provides 15 secondary services and 2
selected tertiary services in addition to other support services,
with priority for ‘day care’ services to the more than 700,000
people in 8 areas in the district of Johor Bahru and the surrounding
areas. Hospital Sultan Ismail also becomes a National Reference
Centre (Pusat Rujukan Kebangsaan) for ‘tertiary care’ services.
Hospital Sultan Ismail with an area of 50 acres has a 6 storey
clinical block, 10-storey ward block and residential quarters.
Hospital Sultan Ismail is equipped with 22 wards, 18 operating
theater, including five theater for ‘day care’ services, 2 theater
in the Emergency Department. The hospital is equipped with 704 beds.
There are 4 Class A Wards and 18 Class Two and Three Wards. In
addition, a total of 88 beds are provided in the Intensive Care Unit
(ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Neonatal ICU (NICU), Burns Unit and
High Dependency Ward specifically for intensive treatment.
